Test room

GBE has 3 test rooms for the testing of resin, oil and power transformers in addition to an automatic diagnostic verification of MV coils device. The testing rooms can operate simultaneously and GBE highly qualified staff can rely on certified state of the art equipment. The test facilities cover an area of 500 square meters, in a controlled environment and are provided with all the safety equipment for high-voltage testing. Data acquisition is fully computerised and can issue test reports that can be printed in nine different languages.

GBE can perform the following tests:

ACCEPTANCE TESTS FOR DRY TYPE TRANSFORMERS:

  • Measurement of winding resistance
  • Measurement of the voltage ratio and check of phase displacement
  • Measurement of the short circuit impedance and load loss
  • Measurements of no load loss and current
  • Applied Voltage Test
  • Induced Voltage Withstand Test
  • Measurement of partial discharges

ACCEPTANCE TESTS FOR OIL TRANSFORMERS:

  • Measurement of winding resistance
  • Measurement of the short circuit impedance and load loss
  • Measurements of no load loss and current

TYPE TESTS:

  • Temperature Rise test (Heat Run)
  • Lightning Impulse Test
  • Dielectric type tests

SPECIAL TESTS:

  • Dielectric special tests (IEC 60076-3)
  • Winding hot-spot temperature-rise measurements
  • Determination of capacitances windings-to-earth, and between windings.
  • Measurement of dissipation factor (tan δ) of the insulation system capacitances.
  • Measurement of zero-sequence impedances of the three-phase transformers.
  • Measurement of d.c. insulation resistance each winding to earth and between windings.
  • Measurement of the frequency response (FRA)
  • Monitoring of external coating (ISO 2178 and ISO 2409 or as specified).
  • Detection of the harmonic content in the load current
  • Thermographic measurement of the hot spots
  • Determination of the windings inductance

All other type and special tests can be carried out in independent laboratories with which GBE have been collaborating for many years.
